What Type of Pain Relief is there for Toothaches?

Tooth aches can be caused by several factors like gum disease, damaged teeth, cavities etc.  The most common remedy for toothache is clove oil. Simply dab some clove oil over a cotton ball and apply it to the affected tooth.

This should help ease the pain a bit. Similarly, onion or a combination of garlic and rock salt will also help reduce toothache. Over the counter painkillers like paracetamol may provide some relief for toothache. Medications like ibuprofen can also help reduce severe pain and inflammation in the gums.  Applying ice over the affected tooth will help numb the area and reduce pain for a while. Taking good care of teeth will help combat toothaches. You must brush and floss regularly. You can rinse your mouth with salt and warm water to flush away decay causing bacteria. Similarly peppermint or tea tree oil mixed with water can also be used as a mouthwash.

Wheatgrass juice is a good mouthwash. It also helps reduce toothaches. Sometimes, toothaches may require more extensive treatment. Broken or damaged teeth must be filled using dental filling or crown. More serious cases may even require root canal surgery or tooth extraction. In general, maintaining good dental hygiene can go a long way in keeping toothaches at bay.
