Yes, there are several risk involved with the nerve block procedure. Some of them are:

1. Development of infection at the site where injection is given to the patient.
2. Bleeding from the injection site.
3. It might happen that medicine may be delivered accidentally into the blood stream.
4. It might happen that at the time of the operation wrong nerve may get damaged while targeting the right nerve if the nerve gets closer to each other.
5. If the women are pregnant then they must inform the physicians before getting exposed to x-rays. If x-ray is important then it is extremely important that you take every precaution to prevent excessive exposure to avoid development of diseases such as cancer and others.
6. There is a risk of increased sugar level.
7. Rashes may develop on the skin.
8. In some cases death may also result but it is very rare case.
