Pain Relief for Leg Cramps

Cramps normally occur due to lack of calcium. The leg cramps usually occur when you sit in the same position for long hours and then suddenly move your leg. Movement of legs become impossible and you must not put pressure on your leg. Do not move and stand on the same place on your foot as you may injure your ligaments.

1. As leg cramps occur due to calcium deficiency, increase calcium-rich food in your diet.
2. Drink a glass of warm milk with a spoon of sugar added in it every night. The sugar avoids the risk of further leg cramps to occur.
3. Consumption of herbal tea with chamomile base reduces leg cramps as it releases tension on the muscles thus reducing strains.
4. Keep your leg in warm water for some time to relieve your pain due to leg cramps. Take hot shower daily.
5. Slowly massage your foot every day with herbal oils. Do not put too much pressure on leg while doing massage.
6. Keep a hot water bottle on your leg whole night while you are sleeping.
7. Tonic water should be consumed in a limited proportion. The quinine in it helps in relieving severe pain due to leg cramps. Pregnant female should avoid consuming tonic water as it has side effects which can leads to defects in the child.
